Bluestone Wildlife Management Area
A variety of outdoor recreational opportunities on 17,632 acres. Adjacent to Bluestone lake, the state's second largest body of water, the park offers boating, canoeing, and fishing. Hunting is offered due to the wildlife management area status and Bluestone has over 330 primitive campsites and picnic sites. Fishermen can enjoy float fishing and stocked trout fishing in Indian Creek. Hiking and Equestrian trails are also popular. Boat rentals are nearby.
East River Mountain Overlook
Off U.S. Rt. 460 in Bluefield, take Rt. 598 to top of the mountain.
Served as the state's first Visitor Information Center in 1960. Located at the top of East River Mountain at an elevation of 3,500 feet above sea level, this attraction provides a breathtaking view of the city of Bluefield and East River Mountain. Observation deck, hiking trails, restrooms, picnic shelters, tables and grills.
Pipestem Resort State Park
Two lodges, deluxe cottages, campground, nature center, hiking and biking trails, aerial tramway, horseback riding, 18 hole championship golf course, 9 hole course, mini-golf, fine dining, 16 acre lake with paddle boats and canoes, banquet accommodations, arts and craft shops.

Camp Creek State Park
Off 1-77 and US 19 at Camp Creek Interchange. The state park (550 acres) and forest (5,300 acres) provides 26 trailer/tent sites with electrical hookups, a heated bathhouse, fireplaces, hunting, fishing, picnicking, game courts, playgrounds, and hiking/biking trails.
Pinnacle Rock State Park
DAY USE PARK with picnic shelters, outdoor stone fireplaces and hiking trails, including a rugged stone staircase to the Rock's Pinnacle over 3000 feet above sea level for a panoramic view of the area.
Tate Lohr Fish Hatchery
State Trout Rearing Station. Open for tours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No admission charge. From Route 460 East take Oakvale Exit (Rt. 112). Turn right at the bottom of the hill. After passing the fire station take next right. Cross the wooden bridge and continue four miles up Pigeon Creek. Watch for signs.
Hatfield~McCoy Trails
Wide Open to ATV's, motorcycles, mountain bikes, horses and hikers - to a trails experience that runs from fun to exciting to extreme. Located in the Appalachian Mountains of Southern WV.

Winterplace Ski Resort
Exit 28 off I-77. Twenty seven trails, a snowboard park and a eleven lane snowtubing park with four lifts. Trails range from beginner to expert. One hundred percent snowmaking coverage capability on every single trail. Special events, group rates, restaurants, lounge and slope-side condominiums are available. Open seven days a week from early December to late March. Hours are: weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; weekends and holidays 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
